All specialties in the Electronic
Technology area begin with a common core of classes, which emphasizes the
fundamental relationships used in all electronics.
These classes create the critical foundation upon which specialty
courses are built.
In addition to the core classes, the Computer System/Networking specialty incorporates a course on programmable logic controllers. This class emphasizes programming skills, controller interfacing, and digital relationships. The peripherals course evaluates and troubleshoots the various devices that are interfaced with a microcomputer. The networking class evaluates data communication systems, network control, and local area network applications. The computer troubleshooting class emphasizes different troubleshooting methods and techniques necessary in repairing today's microcomputers. These techniques are re-enforced by hands-on repair of various types and models of computers. |
